Apologized to my personal tutor about problem in final year project, have a brief report to him about my health problem.

Discovered that Ka Wai is addicted in playing Now.com's membership game....

Last night have a long discussion (in fact sound off) with Ka Wai and Ka To until 0500. According to my evaluation, Ka To mental range is around 18-20, which is quite close to his actual age. While Ka Wai is about 40 (quite close to me). Same problem again, Ka To don't have an idea about what's going on, even we urge him to think about it every time we have discussion. In fact, in 4 brothers, Ka To is the most smart/genius one and capable to handle inter-personal relationship very well. Ka Wai is the most hard working and willing to active learning. While Ka Wo is under development about his own personality, in other words, not settle down yet. I mentioned that Ka Wo will finish his university degree by 5 years time. At that time, according to my plan, we have suffcient work experience, financial backup and build up a medium to large human resource network for establish our own enterprise at that time.

Fail to plan, plan to fail.

Today went shopping at Tesco, failed to find a low cost printer. Gotta print out my project at friend's home tomorrow.

小時候有一段日子逢星期天我們都會製作豆腐花去雲泉仙館販賣. 大慨每次可以有二三佰元的收入. 我的工作主要是"挑水"和"洗碗". 每次收檔後母親都會與我們一起到大家樂吃晚餐. 通常我們星期一的午/夜餐都會有一味由賣剩豆腐花烹調的食物, 例如"麻婆豆腐花", "豆腐花蒸水蛋". 最高紀錄是連續三天都是麻婆豆腐花, 實在令人難忘. 而另一個解決賣剩豆腐花便是"派街坊"(我比較喜歡此方案, 因為不用每天不斷食豆腐花). 不過一碗2.50HKD的豆腐花也有很多的學問.

Ka To have an argue about business stuffs with his brothers again - of course, he lost again.
The major different between him and his brothers is on the marco view over the problem. Whenever he argue, he only mention about the faction of the problem statement. On the other hand, Ka Wai and I capable to decompose the problem well and point out the influencing internal/external factors. Quite worry about him because he still unable demonstrate what is critical thinking and have a global scope on what's going on about the econ. and political trends.

少時母親掃垃圾常常會拾到不少有用的東西. 例如舊音響器材, 電視, 錄影機. 有不少值錢的電子器材會給我這個"敗家仔"拆散用以"科研". 不過這些垃圾中有一類通常會整批"不翼而飛", 它們便是我的個人藏書. 除了學校必須購買的課外書, 我很少買書. 個人"藏書"以台灣翻譯為主, 其中以中二時收藏的田中方樹 - 銀河英雄傳說和一系列有關企業文化管理書藉如追求卓越/矽谷熱等對我思考方式有很大啟發. 當然我也由少年警訊棄置書籍中收藏了不少優秀的作品如人性的弱點, 強者的哲學和青少年犯罪前兆等.
雖然部份書籍的年份久遠(大於15年)與時代脫節, 但是書籍重要性在於記錄作者的思考過程與結果/結論. 同時讀者還可以分析比較時代/文化/社會背景對思考模式的影響.

三大家族
在香港與我關係最親密的家族分別是陳氏, 車氏和梁氏. 其中以陳氏對我家幫助最大. 在家中最貧窮的日子他們不斷雪中送炭. 小時每逢春節, 中秋等節日姑媽等人會贈與我們新衣, 各式各樣零食和玩具. 雖然我們沒有真正血緣關係, 但是他們在我心中與真正親戚沒有分別. 相對來說, 車氏對我關係親密原因主要來自家族血緣關係. 而梁氏影響了我不少重大人生決定.

Introduction
With the entry of China into the WTO, the pace toward globalisation speeded up. This means the new opportunities and economic development can be found. However, long before the China’s issue. Globalisation already takes place in cyber space: The Internet. The effect of Internet takes place everywhere; it brings new jobs, new business and new problems. With the resourceful cyber space, what important is utilise the effective management skill and I.T. to remain our competition ability in the future. As the employment market trends are strongly related to the market grow and direction, I’m going to analysis over the market trend in the coming future.

Information Technology
To many business people, I.T. is related to e-commerce only. However, e-commerce is only a sub-set form I.T.

The successful of e-commerce relies on I.T. development, marketing and management. It is hard to imagine hand over one’s credit card number and pin number over the Internet to buy a book in Amazon.com without the technologies such as database system, SSL(secure socket layer), WebPages and Browser, etc.
Without the excellent verifying system and concurrent system, it’s impossible to handle millions of trades running simultaneously.

An attractive, user friendly and informative website can attract millions of potential customer browse day after day. The web pages can be used for marketing, promotion and trading. The key point is it is fast and effective, that’s why multinational company willing to pour billions into their web site development and Internet advertisements

Nowadays, many places promote I.T. education as their country’s policy. Such as UK, USA, Korea, German, India, China, Pakistan, Israel, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc. Some country develops I.T. based on developing their e-business, while some may want to take control. It’s a trend that I.T. will become a survival skill in the coming future.

Some country such as China, build her national firewall in order to secure it information exchange, prevent attack form other countries (information hacking) and monitor her people’s Internet activities. This demonstrates the power of I.T. – which may lead to the unstable of government, and can be used as a tool to “educate” people.

On the other hand, some country such as India, have another point of view over I.T. they treat it as an industry. There are millions currency gains form I.T. in India. They export their software engineer, I.T. specialist to USA. Some multinational company such as Microsoft, Sun Micro system, CISCO have more than one base in India for I.T. development. These companies choose India because of the cost of running in India is much lower than those in developed countries, also the human resource is never a problem in these countries.

USA, the inventor of Internet, use I.T. as her tools to maintain the world’s “peace”, by filtering all “suspicious” information, she wish to have the best understanding over the world. These information are used for analysis and setting up the national policy towards other countries.

Compare UK with the developing countries such as India, China and developed country such as USA. Our human resources is limited, however, what we are superior is our experience in jurisprudence, business experience and management. On the other hand, basic standard our youth’s computer literacy is above the average compare to most countries in the world. Moreover, we have capitals to develop I.T. They are contemplative factor to keep us with the track with the rest of the world. These factors contribute the development of our market toward I.T. to remain our competitive environment

Apart from e-commerce, another famous example related to I.T. is the game industry, it is a booming business. You can found various game consoles, such as X-box, PS-2, Game Club, etc. Everyday you can found a new game available in the market (sometime even more than two). It is found that the marketing target of these game not only limited to the youth, but people around 8-35. It other words, the potential of the market is huge.

We have many successful examples in game industry, Tomb Rider, as an example, a locally created game made millions pounds income for UK. However, the problem is the government don’t have much effort over assistance this money making industry. With compare to country like Japan, you can found that her government conduct various policies in order to promote her industries. There are more and more university start the course on game in order to provide more human resource for the industries.

I expect that our employment market trend will shift into the I.T. in the coming 10 years before the market become saturate in UK.

Management
Someone capable to write 500 lines program but managed to supervise 50 people write 2000 lines program correctively daily come to the value of manager – management skills.

As a developed country, our cost on human resources is very high – minimum wages at £3.6. This lead to a very serious consideration: is our staff worth for his/her cost with compare to his/her productivity.

To gain profit, some company looked for alternative way to reduce their cost, such as downsizing, re-construction, merging with other companies, etc. These companies can effective reduce their running cost temporary, but result in the low morale toward it staff, indirectly reduce her productively, which lead to decrease of income. At the end of the day, they had to “resize” again.

On the other hand, some company look for the developing countries for their production centre, such as Malaysia, Philippine, China, India, and Indonesia, etc. They bring the new technologies and capitals into these countries and make use of the low price human resource to reduce their running cost. Even some company have poor management skills, they are likely to survival within a decade . This is because the cost of production is low and difference between two countries is huge.

With the developing countries pace forward, these poor managed companies are likely eliminated by the local companies because of poor management skill and government policies. The more important is the advantage of low production cost is gone. They will face the problem of downsizing at the end of the day.

However, in the world, the truth is the more people you are, the stronger you are. It is very important to develop the company culture, which is driven by the effective management skills. Company like Microsoft is not likely to experience the downsizing problem because they currently effectively “monopoly” the personal computer market, on the other hand, they effectively make use of their management skill and low cost human resource in India and China to help them with production.

There are two main parts of management, globalization and localization. The term globalization is globally spread the management class to the place with potential development. Analysis the countries scenario and develop a tailor made management scheme for the child companies.

On the other hand, localization means train up the local employee with management skills and makes uses of the resource locally. In long term, this can ensure that the company can maintain relatively low running cost.

To equip one posted as a global management, he/she should be capable to have through understanding on management moreover, he/she is preferable to communicate in the local language, which is essential for effective communication and management.

One favourite subject among overseas students in UK is MBA, the main reason is UK is experienced and advance in management. As management is so important for a company’s survive in term of cost effective over human resource. I expected more and more post for manager / management trainer can be found on the market. This is due to the shift of our production centre into overseas and cost effectiveness concern.

Combination of I.T. and Management
The employment market is affected by various factors, such as political, economic, environmental, legal and ethical. With the globalisation factor(e.g. United Nations, NATO, EU, APEC), most of these factors such as legal, political, ethical and environmental are becoming less and less dominated. However, the economic and technical are most likely remain dominant. I.T. development is most likely has a progressive growing over the couple decades in the future. Customers are shifting into the new style of commerce and becoming experienced to the changes. The competitions between companies are becoming more and more vigorous. Everyday, new company born with more creative mind is poured into the market. Sadly, without carefully and effectively management skills, these companies are not likely to survive when experienced the state changes in development. Therefore management is playing more and more important role in development of the company versus traditional skills in the future.

Conclusion
Demand of people equipped I.T. and Management skills
In conclusion, based on the market development track, it is expected the major national employment market trends will be focused on I.T. and management in the coming couples of decades. People equipped with a combination of I.T. and management skills will likely to gain a job easily in the future. In other word, the employer are demanding the staff with more effective productivities and capable to supervise others. (1513 words)

始亂終棄
姑媽在我臨走前曾經告誡我做人不要始亂終棄, 可是世事豈能事事如人意? 其實每次致電回家姑媽和母親都會問到她的近況...

回流香港發展只不過是人生的一部份, 宏觀來看其實香港的前途並不樂觀. 香港人競爭力每況愈下, 新一代在安逸的環境下成長普遍缺乏危機意識. 加上社會充斥各類不安因素. 以及內地經濟改革開放, 香港作為資金中轉站的優勢已經不復當年.

每一個為人生部署的決定是不容許後悔.

Pillow is "stained" by blood again. Sometime it's very annoying to wake at midnight because of bleeding.

Today AI tutor suddenly distribute us with the AI exam paper, all of us sucked as we don't prepared for the exam. Terry told us that the paper is a mock paper for the exam 3 weeks later.
Ka Wai just addicted to play flash game, made me slept poorly last night.
