食左兩三日聖誕大餐, 幾件朱古力蛋糕, N 咁多杯啤酒, 晝夜顛倒嘅生活, 急不及待去 gym 房

有感自己係 Conwy Council 開工嘅日子正在倒數中, 未來數年 budget 削減, planning application 數目減少攪到 department 唔夠錢養咁多 officer, 除非 Lindsey 同 Sarah 兩個 "阿太" 唔撈又或者轉做 part time, 如果唔係 cut 人首當其衝就係阿占, 好簡單唔同我 renew work permit 我就要即刻執野走人

但係如果幸運地兩年後 Council 同我 renew work permit 就會係 Indefinite Leave to Remain (Settlement), 即刻 permanent residence

增加籌碼都係快D charter

趕工做 log book, 雖然無咩 motivation 但係唔想再拖, 早日 chartered 早日 "掛正牌執業", 早日了結生命中其中一件必要做的事

回顧過去 3 年, 由細型 household project 到中大型 distribution depot, adventure park, shooting ground earth bund 同屋仔 project 都做過, 而令我最滿意嘅偏偏係 Llandudno Conservation Area 嘅小小 shop front, Forte's Restaurant & Coffee House

一來間野係正 Conservation Area 中心地帶, 二來佢可能係全 Conwy county 其中一個最特別嘅 shop front (glazed canopy/fascia), simple design + traditional painted finish with a modern twist - fusion

Support builds for troubled Trofarth shooting ground

AN ANGRY father of an Olympic hopeful has spoken out in support of a popular long-established Conwy Valley shooting range battling for survival.

The Holland Arms Shooting Ground at Trofarth is in danger of closure after two years of legal battles between owners and residents over noise levels which has resulted in a last ditch appeal to the Assembly.

The shooting range was told by the council it must reduce levels after repeated complaints. After seeking advice the club appealed for planning permission for earth bunds to reduce noise levels, but last year were turned down by Conwy County Council’s planning committee.

Now Llandudno Junction dad Mark Jones, 34 has joined the fight against closure saying his young son, who hopes to represent Wales in the Olympics, would be lost without the shooting range.

“My son Hadyn loves going to the shooting ground and has been an enthusiast since the age of nine,” said Mark. “He hopes to eventually represent Wales at shooting when he is old enough, but he needs consistent practice and the Holland Arms ground is the only local place we can go to otherwise we would have to travel for over an hour.”

The ground, opposite the Holland Arms pub, entertains members of the Welsh Olympic shooting team and members of Sport Conwy.

Mark added: “I take my son twice a week to practice and he can already shoot 18 out of 25 clay pigeons at the age of 10.

“Obviously if it closes it will affect a lot of sportsmen not just me and my son.

“Shooting only take place every other Saturday at the ground so I can’t see how somewhere that has operated successfully for over 20 years can now be subject to a debate about noise.

“I have strong feelings that the council is not supporting them enough, as they help to keep kids off the streets.”

Eleanor Burnham, Liberal Democrat AM for North Wales, is also supporting owner Robert Elliott’s fight to save the shooting ground. She said: “This is a really emotive situation and is taking its toll emotionally and financially on the owners. If the appeal hearing goes against them, I believe the owners will try their best to get some compensation and leave.”

The appeal hearing takes place at 10am on Tuesday, February 10, in the civic offices in Colwyn Bay.

A SHOOTING ground will fire its last shot next week after being forced to close down after an appeal over noise levels was refused by the Welsh Assembly.

Members of the Holland Arms shooting ground on Llanrwst Road, Trofarth, will fire their last rounds of ammunition next Thursday after a Welsh Assembly appeal hearing agreed with a Conwy County Council discontinuance order.

“We are in shock and complete disbelief that it has come to this,” said owner Robert Elliot.

“The shooting ground has been operating here for over 20 years and it’s utterly unbelievable that we are being forced to close after all this time.

“We are upset and angry that despite considerable changes to how we operate we are still being forced to close. Local people will be out of a job and many 2012 Olympic hopefuls who train at the grounds will be put out.”

A noise abatement order issued by Conwy council last year meant the grounds could only operate for seven and a half hours a week, and the owners were advised they could only stay open if costly earth banks were built to further reduce noise levels.

However, a subsequent planning application for the earth banks was refused by Conwy planners earlier this year, and last Thursday an appeal to the Welsh Assembly was refused, leaving no other option for the owners but closure.

“We are left with no option but to close and lose our business and sole source of income,” added Robert.

Supporter Eleanor Burnham, AM for North Wales, said: “I am very sorry that I was not involved from the start in order to help Robert find a practical solution.

“However, I could see straight away that they did not have a strong argument against local residents.

“It is a very regrettable outcome for the owners. I have tried my best to help them but I only came into the situation when it was too late to make a significant difference.”
