It has been one month since I left the Christian Action. I am no longer a TDS, but a tutor now. I miss all my colleagues, especially Sandy So and Christy Mak. They are the two who I still have kept contact in the Christian Action. I regret that Ace was disintegrated after my resignation. Some TDAs have been isolated by the others, and some of them will be transferred to other teams. A new era is now to begin after the end of Ace. May god bless my TDAs.

I have been working for Ying Kiu Education Centre over half a month. Every day is the longest day. I work all day long, from 10:00 to 20:00. I have to serve over ten students in a very small classroom at the same time. I am responsible to checking their homework, dictation and worksheets. Moreover, I took about three hours for travel every single day. What a crazy job.

Yesterday I had dinner with other four classmates, including Connie Yeung, Cynthia Lau, Josephine Chen and Tracy Wong. We had our meal in the Red Ant of Tsim Sha Tsui, from 20:45 to 22:00. We talked about our job. Connie has already got a new job. She is going to stay in the Mainland China from October; Cynthia is still working for an education centre as a tutor; Josephine is now an executive secretary in a new company; Tracy has been working for a new company for two months. She has to stay in the Mainland China also. May god bless all my classmates.

Today is my first day off since I have joined the Ying Kiu Education Centre. I joined the Ying Kiu on 8th September, 2004. I have been working for this company for three days. I works in Tin Shui Wai every day from 10:00 to 19:30. I am responsible to teach 29 primary school students a day. Every day is a busy day. I am exhaust after my work every day. My collleagues are nice and friendly. Miss Kong is the branch manager of the education centre. Mr Mak is a full-tiime tutor. He has been working for the company over a year. Miss Liu is a part-time tutor. She is going to leave office on 17th September, 2004. One more staff member is expected. I rather like my job up to now. Hope every thing is ok.

Yesterday afternoon, I attended a job interview that held by Ying Kiu Education Centre in Union Plaza of Fanling. I went to the education centre by minibus. I arrived at the Union Plaza around 13:20. Then, I hung about the shopping centre. I met Natalie Tsang outside the plaza at 13:30. Natalie is an ex-TDA who belonged to Lok. She is now a clerk in Fanling.

I entered the education centre around 13:50. I was asked to finish a written test. The test is about Chinese language, English language and mathematics. The test is rather easy, but I was not familiar with the mathematics stuff. Following the written test, I was invited to another interview room, a classroom, for an individual interview. After 15 minutes interview, I was hired by the interviewer, Miss Leung. I accepted the offer at once. I will be on duty on 8th September 2004. I am glad to have a job after fortnight that I resigned from the Christian Action. I am very happy.

I left Fanling at 15:20. Then, I went to the office of the Christian Action in Sheung Shui. I had by money back from Wilson Kwok, and I told him that I had a new job.

2004 年 9 月 3 日 星期五 【微雨】

Yesterday night, 2nd September 2004, I had dinner with Sandy So, my best subordinate, in Rhine Garden Restaurant of Metropolis Plaza in Sheung Shui. We met at the Commercial Press of Landmark North at 18:30. Priscilla Cheng also showed up at the Commercial Press with Sandy. Then, Sandy invited me to dinner at a western-style restaurant, the Rhine Garden Restaurant. We had beefsteak for dinner. Sandy likes her steak medium well, but I prefer mine well done. We had a long chat, from 18:30 to 23:30. We talked nineteen to the dozen about TDA program, work, study, relationship and so on. Sandy is a TDA who I trust most. I disclosed all the secret of mine to her, and she also told me many things I don’t know before. I treated Sandy to dinner. We left the restaurant at 22:30. Then, Sandy and I went to a garden for a chat. We left the garden around 23:15. I took her home at 23:30.

Today I had a job interview in Lai Chi Kok at 14:40. The manager hired me at once, but I think I would reject the job offer. It is because it has no basic salary. It went back home around 16:20. What a bad luck.

Yesterday, I attended a training held by Manpower in Central from 10:00 to 11:45. After the training, I don’t think it is a good job. Finally, I made up my mind to reject the job offer. I made a phone call to the human resource to reject the job offer at 20:00. However, I could be punished if I resign. The penalty for resignation is HK$600. God bless me.

After the training, I had my lunch in McDonald at Admiralty. I visited the British Council around 13:00. I left the British Council at 14:50 and came back to Central. I had a job interview for a position of Sales Representative in Central. The interviewer is a general manager of Unam, call Reo Lee. Mr. Lee is a very nice person. We had a long chat, from 15:55 to 17:25. I have a confidence to have second interview. After the interview, I like that job very much. I hope I could take this job.

2004 年 8 月 31 日 星期二 【綿綿細雨】

Today there is a recruitment day held by the PCCW in Lai Chi Kok. I applied for a post of Call Centre Internet Customer Service Officer. I arrived at the recruitment centre, a stadium, around 10:45. The interview finished within half an hour. I hope I have a choice to have the second interview. I would be contacted by this week.

I received a phone call from the Manpower at about 14:00. Manpower intended to hire me as a library assistant. I took the offer at once, even though I may not sign the contract. I was asked to attend a job briefing in Central tomorrow at 10:00.

At the same time, I was invited to attend another job interview at Central at 15:45. An international pharmaceutical company invites applications for a sales representative. I have some confidence to have the job.

2004 年 8 月 30 日 星期一 【暴雨】

Today I was invited to attend a walk-in interview by Manpower, another outsourcing vendor besides Adecco. The Manpower is now recruiting Library Assistant. The interview lasted for 45 minutes, from 11:15 to 12:00. There was a group interview following a typing test. Even though I have confidence to take this job, I don’t like the job. After the interview, I had my lunch in McDonald in Central.

I left Central around 13:30. Then I paid a visit to the Christian Action in Sheung Shui. I intended to get my money back. However, the account was not ready. I met Sandy So, Chung, Tsz Wai and May in the Christian Action.

2004 年 8 月 28 日 星期六 【雷雨】

I have been unemployed for three days. Yesterday, I had two job interviews. One in Kwun Tong as a Customer Services Officer, another in Tuen Wan as Customer Services Representative. The company in Kwun Tong is a water filter dealer. The company in Tuen Wan is an electronic supplier. For the first job interview, I was invited to attend a job interview at 10:00. There were other five interviewees in the same interview, one lady and four gentlemen. Firstly, I was asked to finish a written test within 30 minutes. There were two compulsory essay questions, the first one was written in Chinese, another one was written in English. After the written test, I was arranged to meet the human resource manager with another interviewee, Kyle. Kyle is now working for a bank. He attempts to find a new job. Kyle and I were asked to finish a role-play in both Cantonese and English. The role-play is about a customer complaint. The role-play completed within 10 minutes. The whole interview finished within 30 minutes. The interview finished after the role-play.

After the first job interview, I had a lunch at the food court in the Festival Walk of Kowloon Tong. Following the lunch, I paid a visit to the Hong Kong Baptist University for taking a rest. I left the university around 12:50.

For the second job interview, I was assigned to take a mock exam, writing a reply letter to a customer in English. Following the mock exam, I was asked to take a typing test in both English and Chinese. Then, Ms Tam, the manager, met me for an interview. I think I have made a rather good impression on Ms Tam. Ms Tam seemed like me. However I don’t think I can get this job. She told me that some other positions in her company may suit me. The interview lasted for about an hour and a half, from 14:00 to 15:25.

After these two job interviews, I have no confidence to get a job. But it was a good experience. God bless me. I hope I can have a new job as soon as possible.

2004 年 8 月 25 日 星期三 【晴】

Yesterday is my last day onduty in Lok Ma Chau. I attended both shifts, from 7:30 to 22:00. I chatted with my TDAs all day long, and took many photos with them. It is the worst of the time. I miss all my colleagues. I have to leave office for some reasons, even though I miss them. There were 6 TDAs in the day shift, Fung is leave; and there were 13 TDAs in the night shift, Sandy So was sick leave (hope her recover soon). I love my TDAs, and my TDAs love me. I treated my TDAs of the night shift, while the TDAs of the day shift treated me. God bless my TDAs.

Today, Fai and Sum leave office after me. They are my best partners. Hope they have a bright future.

I was very happy that Chan Jia Po and Tempo Lam also phoned me up yesterday. Sandy So also sent me a SMS even though she could not onduty on my last day.

There are three things I was glad as a TDS:
1. Sandy So was selected as the best TDA
2. Fai returned to office after his first resignation
3. Temp Lam finished the job that I assigned him before, help me cleaning the shelf.

But there are also three things that I regret:
1. I can't help Man Man became the best TDA.
2. I can't honored my promise that using my watch as the standard time in LMC.
3. Sandy So, my best TDA, can't show up on my last day in Lok Ma Chau.

The photos I took yesterday have been uploaded at the following website: http://photos.yahoo.com/pakkiyick

Today I have to tender my resignation to the Christian Action. I am going to leave office seven days from now on.
It is the best of the time. It is the worst of the time. My watchwords:

With great power, comes great responsibility.
One for all, all for one.
Put yourself to other people shoes.

"Discipline, Responsibility, Harmony"
