“A New Computer”

Last Saturday I bought a brand new computer in Golden Computer Shopping Centre in Sham Shui Po. My old computer served me for about six years. It was out of order, so I need a new one. Everybody knows I am a computer idiot. I don’t know beans about computers. In order not to cheat by all those dishonest dealers, I need someone who familiar with IT knowledge to give me advice when I choose a computer. I asked Sum Wong, my ex-colleague, helping me to choose a computer. Sum is a computer expert and he was graduated from the university with degree in computer.

I met Sum in the McDonald near the Golden Computer Shopping Centre around six o’clock. Sum helped me bargaining with the computer dealers. I got a new computer and a LCD monitor in a good price with his help. It just cost me five grand. After buying the computer, I treated him to dinner in a Yunan restaurant nearby at a quarter past seven. After the supper, I went to Sum’s home by taxi. I got to Sum’s home at half past eight. Sum and his elder brother helped me installing some softwares in my computer. Thank you for their help. I left Sum’s home at midnight. I went home by the bus no. 72X.

“New Headquarters”

The company that I work for has five branches. Each division has a branch manager together with a few tutors. The outlet in Tsui Lai Garden, which was the head office of the Ying Kiu, was the nerve centre of the company. On June 1, the headquarters moved to the branch of Union Plaza, the outlet that I work for. The management is now staying in the office which near my classroom. I am now someone who near the control centre. Mrs. Wu, Gloria Chan, Miss Wong are all management of the company.

Mrs. Wu, also known as Ada Wong, is the administrative manager of Ying Kiu. She is considered a big fish in the company. She is the most powerful woman in the company after the boss, Mr. Hui. Although she is a middle-aged woman with low education, I think she is the best bet for the position. She is able to handle any problems even though she knows not a bit of English and computer. For that reason, she is indeed a can-do employee.

Miss Chan, a.k.a. Gloria Chan, is the accountant of the company. I do not know her much, just arm’s-length relationship. But she is a lady who easy to get along with.
Miss Wong, also called Katherine Wong, is the district manager. She is a pretty young lady, or say, she is the most beautiful woman in the company. Miss Wong had been working for Ying Kiu for about two years, but she is only twenty something. She is responsible to manage all the branches. She wears more than one hat at work. She is a district manager, branch manager and tutor. Katherine is a good manager. Everybody likes her.

Miss Wu is the branch manager of Union Plaza. As I mentioned in my previous diary, I don’t think she is the right person for this position. She is a little short on Ram. Moreover, she has no management experience before. She always bothers me with some ham-and-eggs matters. For instance, changing the water bottle from the dispenser, changing the copier toner, repairing the photocopier and so on. Furthermore, she always looks out for number one. She is reluctant to share things with others. But come to think of it, Miss Wu has her own consideration. She is a middle-aged woman with low education. She has no security in her current job. However, she is hardworking. She worked her fingers to the bone to teach her students. Nevertheless, Miss Wu is just a puppet even though she is the branch manager. Miss Wong is the top dog in this outfit.

Miss Ngan was a tutor in the branch. Before she joined the Ying Kiu, she had worked for another tutorial school for four years. She was the most experience tutor within the company, but she got low pay. She was not satisfied with her salary. Thus, she was always absent from work. She often asks for sick leaves. But she is not really ill, she is just putting on a show. Besides that, she was a clock watcher. She often left early with no reason. The management could no longer put up with her performance. Finally, Miss Wong booted her out on June 7, 2005. Miss Ngan got canned. Anyone could be a private tutor. It is duck soup to everyone. Anyone could be dismissed. There are plenty of fish in the sea. A tutor is easy to hire during economic depression. Miss Ngan and I got along very well. I am a little bit disappointed about her leaving. To be honest, she is getting what is coming to her, and that is all.

In addition, I am sorry to hear that Miss Tin resigned from her position of branch manager after marriage. She is now just a tutor in Tsui Lai Garden. Miss Tin is a very capable supervisor. Everyone likes her. I don’t think she deserved to be demoted.

After Miss Ngan got sacked and Miss Tin was demoted, I made up my mind leaving the company. I don’t like my job right off the bat. I am not putting up with my job anymore. Furthermore, my students made much noise in the classroom every day. I cannot hear myself think with all this noise. Since I cannot earn much from my job, I have to save a few dollars for a rainy day. Before I get a new job, I think I have just to plug along for the time being.

“Frankie Tsang”, my old college classmate

Yesterday afternoon, I hung around in the Tai Po Centre after returning books to the public library of Tai Po Market. I entered a bookstore in Tai Po Plaza. Guess who the boss of that bookstore is! Frankie Tsang. Frankie, also known as Rabbit, is one of my classmates when I studied in the HKBU. We studied in the same faculty in university. He is now running a bookstore in Tai Po Plaza. He has been running the bookstore for a few months. His bookstore sells books from mainland China. He is now putting his heart and soul in his business. I think he will make a go of it.

It has been a wonderful vacation this Dragon Boat holidays, but unfortunately it has back to the coal mines again tomorrow.

“Houseguest”
Yesterday night, I received a sudden SMS from my friend, Alan Lo. He said that he could not enter his apartment because he got a wrong key for the gate and none of his family members answered the door. He took me totally by surprise. We discussed how to open the gate for over an hour on the phone. I suggested him that he could knock at the door and make a phone call to his apartment at the same time. However, he tried in vain to get into contact with his family. Alan told me that his family members are used to sleep in their bedroom with door closed. To make matters worse, they are used to turn off their cell phones before go to bed. Nobody from the inside could open the gate for Alan since they were fast asleep. They could hear nothing even if the fire alarm was on. Alan had no choice but to wait outside his residence.

Finally, I invited him to stay overnight at my place if he did not mind. He accepted my invitation on the spot. He got to my residence at 1:30 in the morning. I made a cup noodle for him. Before we went to bed, I advised Alan to leave a voice message to his parents about staying overnight at my home. Alan picked up the handset and dialed the number of his apartment. Surprisingly, someone answered the phone! Alan reached his family eventually! Nevertheless, it was too late. Alan decided to stay at my place for a night.

My room was at sixes and sevens. It seemed that Alan could not find a comfortable position in bed yesterday night. We had breakfast together in the Café de Coral of Fu Shin Estate Shopping Centre the next morning. After the breakfast, we went to work respectively. I think Alan should get a right key today. I hope that he would have a peaceful night’s sleep tonight.

“Work”
It has been two months since I have been transferred to the branch of Fanling. People are very friendly in general, except Mrs Wu. Specking of Mrs Wu, the executive manager, is a bit much sometimes. Mrs Wu always makes some very cutting comments. Nobody seems to be very fond of her. Adding insult to injury, business is bad across the board and we are losing clients left, right and centre. Summer holiday is just around the corner. Business is expecting to be going down. The atmosphere at work leaves a lot to be desired. Apart from that, Miss Wong, the district manager, has not shown up for ten days. It seems that she would never come back. Miss Wu is now promoted to branch manager. But in practice, we have no supervisor in our centre. To tell the truth, she is not cut out for being a manager. She knows next to nothing about management.

I am getting sick of working in this tutorial school. Sometimes I find it is hard to get away from some parents of my students. I have no choice but to put up with those demanding clients. I don’t like my current job on the whole. I was on the verge of quitting three months before, but Miss Kong (my former supervisor) talked me out of leave at that time. It would be bad for my career if I did not find a new job at the moment. Finding a new job would be a much better option. On a brighter note, I got a chance to have job interviews in the coming Monday and Saturday. I have trouble deciding what to tell my boss about my job interviews. I am trying to keep it quiet. I wish I had the guts to ask for a day off. I am worried that my supervisor will notice that I am acting all strange, especially I ask for two days off within a week. I mulled it over all afternoon and finally decided to ask for a half-day off on Saturday. I hope I can have a new job this time.

By the way, the only one who I can talk to is Miss Ngan, the newly arrival tutor. She could only be a tutor even though she has four years tutorial and management experience in another tutorial school. I often spend some time gossiping with Miss Ngan during lunchtime. We always have a good chat about our previous jobs.

“Trip to Guangzhou”
Guess where I went to last Sunday! Guangzhou! Most of my relatives, including my grandparents, live in mainland China. Father always tries to drag me along to my grandparent’s house with him. I have no choice but to go to Guangzhou with my parents. I visit to my grandparents in Guangzhou every few years. Since I am the eldest grandchild in my family, everyone in my family loves me very much. They were all eager to see me. To be honest, I am not so keen on traveling to China. You would be exhausted after three hours in travel under hot sun. That’s why I seldom go to China. I was looking forward to my lovely long weekend but that was ruined by a trip to China.

It has been a long time since I have visited China with my parents. My parents and I got up quite early in that morning. Before leaving home, father quarreled with mother over trivial matters. We left our apartment at eight and took a train in Shenzhen at 9:09. It was half past eleven when we got to my grandparents’ home. I met my father’s parents, aunt and uncle (father’s younger sister and her husband). However, I was a bit disappointed that mother refused to call on father’s parents. She went straight to her parents’ home. Father and I had lunch at my grandparents’ home. Our grandparents have been looking forward to seeing me for years. My grandmother told me that she has not seen me for three years. After three hours making forced polite conversation with my aunt, we went to mother parents’ home. We arrived at my grandmother place at three o’clock in the afternoon. Two hours later, my mother and I went to a multistory bookstore. But, I have no mood to buy any books. I could not wait to return to Hong Kong. We left for Hong Kong at half past seven. Finally, mother and I reached home at ten. After the trip in Guangzhou, I really looked like death warmed over. Fortunately, I got a holiday the next day, the Buddha’s Birthday. I watched Star War I and II at my lovely home. Each film lasted for three hours! After spending the whole day before the television, I went back to work on Tuesday.

“Family, Father and Son”
Back to my family, my relationship with my father is going from bad to worse. I must say, I have nothing in common with him, especially our viewpoints in family value. I have tried my best to get to know him better, but it did not work out that way. I had a big fight with him on 13th May. I needed to confront my father with my feelings about him at that moment. Friday the thirteenth is true after all. He reacts to every little criticism about him. He is too thin-skinned for his own good. Recently, he has planned to work in the USA. I wonder what my father thinks about his career in America. My father knows not a bit of English. I have my doubts that he could make any profit in Seattle. To make matters worse, I cannot help thinking that my parents really want to divorce. Anyway, I have no business to interfere in their matters.

Thank you for your patience. It is the longest dairy that I have ever written.

“Hamsters and I”

It has been nearly two years since I have reared hamsters. I have been rearing hamsters since 16th August 2003. Hamster is a kind of mice, having large cheek pouches and a short tail and often kept as a pet. One Saturday afternoon, when I was hanging around the Tai Po Mega Mall, I came across a small lovely animal in a pet shop. There were twenty odd mouselike mammals being raised in a large plastic box. It was a tiny creature with soft gray fur. It was six to eight centimeters in length. They had two big dark eyeballs and four short legs. They looked cute and lovely. I bought two hamsters without any hesitation. Hamsters breed quickly. Until now, I have altogether twelve hamsters. They are raised in two separate cages. I like them much.

Although I have taken good care of my hamsters, my father does not like those mice. He said that there was unpleasant smell from the hamsters. He sometimes quarrels with me over the matters of hamsters. But I think it is no use arguing about it with him. He is as stubborn as a mule. On 20th April, my father gave five hamsters to a little boy without my permission. I was very angry about that. I bought other five hamsters from the pet store the next day. The hamsters were $16 each. It cost me $80. However, one of them was killed by another hamster that night. Two days later, another one died for no reason. After this incident, I like my hamsters more than before.

I have been working for the education centre in Fanling for over a month. In the meantime, it had an earthquake in the personnel of the company. The branch manager and the cleaner resigned, a district manager took in charge and a new tutor was hired. My previous supervisor, Miss Leung, quitted on 11th April. As far as I know, the human resource manager accused her of having a conflict of interest. Miss Leung and her boyfriend, Mr Fung, resigned at the same night. The company was in crisis at once. No one could follow up her job. Some clients were lost contact. Some parents lodged complaints against our education centre for mismanagement and poor education quality. Many students are going to withdraw from our centre due to the resignation of Miss Leung. Even the cleaner, Mrs Lam, resigned together with Miss Leung. Many things needed to take control. Miss Wong, the district manager, took charge the branch after Miss Leung. Miss Wong is a very nice lady. She looks twenty-odd years of age. She is often very kind to those below her rank. Nevertheless, she could not do much for the decreasing number of customers. It is beyond her power to do this. By the way, a new tutor was hired. Her surname is Ngan. She is twenty something. Miss Ngan is easy to get along with.

Everyone can foresee that it would be a fall in business. I have no reason to stay in this company. I have made up my mind to leave.

“Dinners, Gatherings and Friendship”

Since I have been transferred to the branch of Fanling, I got much spare time. Recently, I have met many old friends, ex-colleagues and schoolmates. I had dinners with them. My story started from 3rd April.

On 3rd April, I had dinner with Sandy So in the Red Forest Café of Landmark North in Sheung Shui. Sandy is my ex-colleague. We worked together in Lok Ma Chau, the border control point, for almost a year. She was not only the most outstanding member in my team, but also my favorite associate in “Ace”. It has been seven months since I saw her last. The last time we had dinner together was on 3rd September, 2004. For the details of that night, please refer to my online diary dated 3rd September, 2004. On 3rd April, we met at the Commercial Press of Landmark North at 19:00. We ordered two set dinners. We talked about all we had done during those days. I was glad to hear that she had got a good job after leaving the Christian Action in the end of March. I insisted on treating Sandy to dinner, even though she intended to pay the bill. I took her home at 21:00. We had a great time together. I look forward to having dinner with her again.

After the dinner with Sandy, I had another gathering with my schoolmates on 4th April. Connie Yeung, Jimmy Law and I met at the Maxim’s Caterers of the Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong at 20:20. Connie and Jimmy were my classmates when we studied in university. They are two of my best friends in the GIS. It has been two and a half years since we got together last. We have not seen each other since Jimmy went to Australia for his further study. We had a long chat, from 20:30 to 23:00. We shared our work experience each other. Jimmy has already got a master degree in logistic. He is now a professional; Connie has just come back from the mainland China. She is now a quite successful businesswoman. They both planned to develop their own careers. It was a wonderful time for us. I hope they have a bright future.

On 5th April, I met two old friends on the same day. In the afternoon, I had tea with Rick Yu in the Grand Century Place in Mongkok. I met with Ricky at half past four at the Mongkok KCR Station. Ricky was my colleague when I worked for the Hong Kong Central Library in Causeway Bay. He was one of my close friends when I worked in library in spring 2003. We have not seen each other for almost a year. We chatted about work, family and study. Even though we have different viewpoints on those aspects, we respect one another. Ricky is now in depression. In the past six months, many terrible things happened to him. But he is a tough guy. I think he could overcome all difficulties. We left the Grand Century Place at 19:30.

After the tea with Ricky, I rushed for another appointment. Yuke Leung asked me out for dinner in Mongkok at half past seven. We had our dinner in a rather good western-style restaurant. Yuke was my colleagues. We have been friends ever since we met in 2003. We served in the same telemarketing company for a month. After that, we worked for a financial company for a week. I have not seen her for a year. She has got a good job in a clinic. We shared our work experience each other. I treated her to dinner. After the dinner, we hung around in Ladies Market for a while. We went back home around 23:00.

I enjoyed having dinners with my friends. They are part of my life.

By the way, I got a high temperature on 6th April. I took a sick leave the next day. It has been the first time I asked for a sick leave since I was transferred to the new branch. To sum up, everything is fine besides my health condition.

2005 年 3 月 27 日 星期日 【微冷】

Yesterday night, Lung Ho and I watched a movie, Downfall, in Cinematheque Broadway Theatre in Yau Ma Tei. Lung is my schoolmate. We studied in the same secondary school and university. Lung has an academic mind and always writes good articles with critical analysis. I love to read his essays. The film started from 19:00 and lasted for two and a half hours. The ticket cost me $50. It is a very good German documentary film. The movie described the last twelve days of Hitler’s life and the downfall of Nazi. The film is recommended to all people who interested in Hitler’s history. After the movie, we had dinner in a restaurant in Mongkok.

On 15th March, my aunt who came from the USA paid a visit to my home. She reached my apartment at 22:00. We chatted about the lives in Hong Kong and the USA, family, study and so on. My mother came home at 23:00. My aunt and my mother had not seen each other for fifteen years. When they met they talked nineteen to the dozen about all they had done during those years. They had an argument on the value of life. My father and I were suffered from the long-lasting conversation between them. We could not sleep if they did not stop talking. Finally, the debate ended at mid-night and I could take a rest eventually.

On 16th March, 2005, all staff, including my supervisor Miss Kong; my colleagues, Mr Mak, Miss Yip, Miss Lam and I had lunch in a nearby Café de Coral. It was my last day in Tin Shui Wai. It was the “Last Lunch” with my colleagues. I treated that lunch. It only cost me $102. To be perfectly honest, I am not a very good staff member in the company. I have taken three days sick leave since last September. But I have tried my best to do my job in the past six months. Even though I do not like my job, the colleagues treated me all right, especially Mr Mak. He helped me a lot during these days. I missed my colleagues and my students when I left my classroom on that night. I could do nothing but changed three broken fluorescent lights before I left the company. I thought it was the last thing I could do for my colleagues. I would transfer to Fanling branch on 17th March.

I have been working for the new branch in Fanling for ten days. The culture and working conditions there are very different from Tin Shui Wai. First of all, I am busy at work in Tin Shui Wai. On the contrary, I am quite free in Fanling. Secondly, there is good relationship between clients and tutors in Tin Shui Wai, but it is not the case in Fanling. I seldom meet the parents of my students. The customers do not care who is their children’s tutor. Thirdly, pupils in Tin Shui Wai are not clever but they are eager to learn. More precisely, they are “forced” to learn in the tutorial school. In contrast, pupils in Fanling are stupid and lazy. To a certain extent, it is the tutor’s responsibility. The tutors in Fanling used to indulge their students. The students learn nothing in this branch. To be honest, I did not agree with such teaching method. However, I still love to work in Fanling because I can enjoy a comfortable working condition and save much time in travel.

2005 年 3 月 12 日 星期六 【雨】

Many things happened to me this week. I have lot to say. My story began on this Monday, 7th March, 2005.

I went to work as usual on Monday morning. Everything was fine before noon. However, I looked a bit under the weather in the afternoon. My body temperature rose to ad normal level and I felt very cold at the same time. When I came back home after work, I had a fever. My body temperature rose to 102°. I felt very sick. My mother called 999 at eleven. An ambulance took me to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital of Tai Po. I was sent to emergence room again within four months. I reached the hospital at midnight. Even though I just got a cold, the doctor advised me to take a sick leave for one day. I was discharged at half past twelve.

I asked for a sick leave on the next day, the Women’s Day, on 8th March. I have got another sick leave since November 2004. It was a special day for me. It was not only I took a sick leave, but also it was a day that I have worked for the company for half a year. I have served for this company since 8th September, 2004. I regretted that I could not be on duty that day. I was sorry that my colleagues, including my boss, had to share my work. Even the boss of the headquarters came to help. I could image that what a mess caused due to my sick leave.

During my day off, I had nothing to do because I still felt unwell. I usually employ myself in reading in my free time. I finished a book that talking about the Greek mythology and I watched a TV serial about Sherlock Holmes.

One of my hamsters died on the same day. That hamster died for no reason. I thought that it was killed by other hamsters. Hamsters always fight each other and the loser may die in the fight. There are only fourteen hamsters left.

I tendered my resignation the following day at noon, on 9th March, 2005. The reason for my resignation was that I was ill. I claimed that my health has deteriorated sharply since November, 2004. Surprisingly, my boss, Miss Kong, neither blamed me for my sudden resignation nor persuaded me to stay. She was unusually calm. She suggested that she could transfer me to another branch that located near to my home. I accepted her suggestion at once. I am going to transfer to another branch until a new tutor is employed.

On 11th March, 2005, a new private tutor, Miss Lam, joined the company. She would replace me as the new tutor before the Easter. She is going to take over my job. I would be transferred to the headquarters of the company in Fanling. But I am not promoted, it is just a job rotation. Whatever, it is a good offer for me.

My father has disappeared for two weeks. He was lost contact since 1st March, 2005. In the meantime, even he did not give me a phone call. He showed up again tonight. He said that he has been to Guangzhou, Macau and Hainan Island with my aunt who came from the USA.

Besides, I learned that TDA program was renewed for another six months. But some of my ex-colleagues refused to renew their contracts. Hope they can find a better job soon. So do I.

2005 年 2 月 27 日 星期日 【綿綿細雨】

Yesterday morning, I was invited to attend a job interview in Kowloon Bay. This job was introduced by my previous boss, Wilson Kwok. It seems to be a good news that I have an interview. But it was not so simple. I was asked to reach the company by 9:00. When I arrived at the company, no one was there. The gate was still locked. Later, an office lady opened the door and invited me in. However, the contact person was not there. I could do nothing but wait. I had waited for an hour until a supervisor showed up around 10:00. The interview only lasted for about five minutes and I was asked to wait for the second interview. I don’t think I could have that job.

After the job interview, I went back to work until half past six.

At night, I had my dinner in the McDonald of the Metropolis Plaza in Sheung Shui. After that, I went to the Golden Shopping Centre in Sham Shui Po. I want to have a new computer since my computer has been out of date. Recently, I have found some bugs in my computer. It has not been running properly lately. It would cost me about three grand if I wanted to have a brand new computer (without monitor). It is quite expensive for me. Moreover, I don’t think it is cheaper to buy a computer in Sham Shui Po than in other districts. I think I can have the same product in Tai Po with the same price in Sham Shui Po.

Another reason I went to Sham Shui Po was to find some GBA games, especially the pirated editions. However I got nothing there. All games were genuine products. They were all worth two hundred bucks or more. What's more, most of people were looking for the Playstation Pocket (PSP) but not the GBA or NDS.

Afterward, I went to the Joint Publishing of the Dragon Centre in Sham Shui Po. All the books there have discount of 15 per cent. However, I did not buy anything even though there is a price reduction.

I left Sham Shui Po at 21:30. I visited the Mongkok Computer Centre. Nevertheless most of the shops were closed. I also got nothing there. Then, I went to Tung Choi Street, also known as the Ladies Market, in Mongkok. I found some pirated GBA games in a few booths eventually. I bought two games in one of the booths. They were the “Spiderman” and the “Incredible Hulk”. Both of them looked no difference from the official goods on the surface. The functions were the same. But the pirated one only cost me $69 for each. It could be worth over two hundred dollars for each if it was a genuine goods.

Finally, I left Mongkok at 23:15. I reached home by mid-night. When I entered into my apartment, nobody was at home. I was alone until my father came back home tonight.

Tonight, I had a quarrel with my father. I seldom quarreled with my father over trivial matters. But this time, we had a total disagreement on the value of family. But I think it is no need to mention on my diary. It is because the situation was very complicated but not the matters of privacy. I cannot present it in a few lines. But one thing I am sure. My father and I were stubborn persons. Like father, like son.

2005 年 2 月 18 日 星期五 【暴雨】

Today is my birthday. I am now 25. This is indeed one of the most memorable days of my life. I have been existed in this world for a quarter of century. It is about time for me to make a revision.

A few days ago, I received an on-line birthday card from Charlotte Keung. We were in the same faculty when we studied in university. She was the first person who sent a birthday card to me. She is my good friend.

Yesterday, Connie Yeung and Linda Lau sent me birthday greeting messages through icq. Connie was my GIS classmate. Linda and I were both Rotaract members when we studied in university.

Tracy Wong, my ex-classmates, gave me a phone call during lunchtime today. She phoned me every year. But, she made a long distance call to me this year. She is now working in mainland China. Tracy is my good friend.

After that, I received a cell phone message from Alan Lo at 15:35. He sends me a birthday greeting through SMS every year. He is also my good friend.

I had dinner in McDonald in Shangshui after work even though I had got a very bad cough since November 2004.

In a nutshell, nothing is deserved to be mentioned today. It was the most humdrum birthday that I had ever passed.

P.S. The same birthday wish: Quitting from my goddamned job!

2005 年 2 月 12 日 星期六 【微冷】

According to Chinese calendar, yesterday was my birthday. (18th February is my birthday according to solar calendar.) Therefore, I am now twenty-five. Yesterday I had my lunch with other three ex-colleagues, including Fai Lau, Sum Wong and Lok Tang, in Hon Wo Korean Restaurant of Mongkok City Centre. We met in the Grand Century Palace at 13:00. Then, we went to the Korean Restaurant for lunch. It was my first time to eat Korean food. However, the food is not as good as I expected. We left the restaurant at 14:35.

After the lunch, Fai, Sum and I hung around in Mongkok. We first went to the Langham Place. Then, we bought movie tickets in the Cinematheque in Yau Ma Tei. Afterwards, Fai left us around 15:00 and I went to Sum’s home in Tai Kok Tsui. We played computer games. His apartment was very nice with good view. Next, we watched the movie “Constantine” in Yau Ma Tei at 17:20. The film was not as good as I expected. The movie was quite bored.

After the movie, Sum and I hung about in Mongkok from 19:30 to 20:30. He bought a pair of leather shoes in Sincere Podium. Then, we had our dinner in a Shanghai restaurant around 20:30. After the dinner, we went back home at 21:15.

I reached home at 10:45. I made a phone call to Sandy So, my ex-colleague when I worked for the Christian Action. We chatted for an hour, from 23:00 through midnight. I was glad to hear that everything was fine with her. Hope she has a brilliant future.

That was my birthday of twenty-five of age. I hope I could quit from my current goddamned job and got a new job if I got a birthday wish.

P.S. Alan Lo called me after midnight. We chatted from 00:15 to 01:30. I though he had a good holiday. He visited Miss Shue in Tsuen Wan yesterday.
