Michael Woodcock was camping in the Shropshire hills on 24th August when a magnificent rainbow appeared overhead to complete the picturesque setting.
This effect is termed a 'cloud street', formed when cumulus clouds are shaped by columns of ascending and descending air. Gemma Pitcher was at a Festival campsite in Chelmsford on 21st August when she spotted this.

Synopsis : RELIGULOUS follows comedian Bill Maher (“Real Time with Bill Maher,” “Politically Incorrect”) as he travels to religious sites around the world to interview a broad spectrum of believers about God and religion. Known for his astute analytical skills and for his commitment to never pulling a punch, Maher applies his characteristic honesty and irreverent wit to the question of faith, bringing us on an uproarious and provocative spiritual journey. Directed by Larry Charles (BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN, HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”), RELIGULOUS will mark Charles’ first feature project since the critically acclaimed, wildly successful BORAT.

8 ways for Guys Over 40 to Keepy Styling By Craig Playstead
After the age of 40 guys need to do things a little differently. Yet, the style we choose and the grooming we brave every day matters more now than ever before. At this age your clothes shouldn't define you, but they should solidify who you are. Here are some rules that will not only help the average guy over 40 look better, but feel better as well.
1. When it doubt, dress it up rather than down. You're at the point now when you've earned respect; don't blow it by wearing a Black Sabbath T-shirt instead of a button down and chinos to your in-laws' house for dinner. If you have any question at all, especially if it's a work event, dress it up rather than dressing down. It'll look like you have respect for the occasion and the host, and you will never feel out of place. It's always better to be the best-dressed guy at a party rather than the worst.
2. Don't buy anything that is labeled "slim" or "fitted." Don't believe what most of those catalogs and salespeople are telling you - 95 percent of men over 40 should not be wearing "slim fit" anything. You're not Ashton Kutcher, nor would you want to be, so buy clothes that look good on you. If you're not sure, or terrified of getting duped by the hot sales girl, take your wife or another woman who will shoot straight when shopping with you.
3. Ditch the Electric Razor. We shouldn't approach shaving as something to get done as quickly as possible. Our beard is one of our most manly traits, so instead of looking at shaving as a chore, treat it as a ritual. Embrace it. One thing you shouldn't do is skimp on your tools, so dump the electric razor. It will irritate your face, give you those horrible red bumps, fail to provide a close enough shave for that lady in your life, and at some point make you look like a soccer ball - with missed patches of hair all over your mug. Nothing looks worse than a guy in a meeting trying to make a point, with patches of hair sprouting from all directions. Take pride in shaving each morning, and make sure it's something you hand down to your boys. They'll remember the day you taught them to shave for the rest of their lives.
4. Stay true to who you are. As your hair starts turning gray, there's a big push to start dying it. Resist. Thank God that we live in a time when George Clooney, Anderson Cooper and President Obama have made it cool to go gray. And unless you're paying top dollar to a fantastic "stylist" your dyed hair will look ... dyed. Just keep it clean, neat and looking good and you'll be fine. Fight the urge and embrace the change. This goes for toupees and hair pieces too - don't even think about it.
5. Pay attention to the details. You might have noticed that while you're losing the hair on your head, you're gaining hair in other fun spots such as your ears and nose. Not good. Make sure to keep track of where these irritating buggers pop-up and get them before someone else points them out to you with an uncomfortable look on their face. It's not a fun part of getting older, but it's necessary. You don't want to be 80 and end up looking like Andy Rooney - or a Chia Pet.
6. Protect yourself. I know this doesn't sound manly or cool, but you need to protect your skin with a moisturizer that contains sunscreen. Even if you're face is a little beat up from all those years in the sun without any protection, you can slow down any further damage or aging by using a men's face moisturizer with at least SPF 15. I told a few of my buddies this at our guy's weekend last summer and they all laughed and said how dumb that was. The next Monday, two of them emailed me and asked which one to buy. It's okay, go ahead.
7. Wear clothes that fit properly. Hopefully you're at a point in your life where you know the sizes that work for you. Unfortunately I see guys wearing clothes that are either too small or too big all the time. Let's face it, most guys after 40 have put on an extra pound or two, and oversized clothing makes you look even more rumpled, chunky and unkempt. While anything too tight will end up showing parts of you that we don't really want to see. Also, a good fit is important because you'll feel better -- which in turn will make you more confident. And confidence is king.
8. Stay away from anything trendy. After a certain age, a guy who tried to follow what's hip just looks sad. You shouldn't be wearing the same thing as your 15-year-old son. Instead, go with a more classic look and then take one thing you're wearing and go just a little trendy. It won't look like you're trying too hard, but you'll still look like you're not stuck in the 80's.

Circumzenithal arcs sometimes appear along with cirrus clouds and are caused by sunlight reflecting through high-altitude ice crystals. Barry Cartwright spotted this one above his house in Higher Penwortham, Lancashire on 22nd August.
Alex Stevenson's 6-year-old daughter Lara also spotted the circumzenithal arc overhead on 22nd August. Alex took this picture outside his house in Walton le Dale, Lancashire.
The circumzenithal arc also appeared over Blackburn, Lancashire on 22nd August. Chris Bull was quick to take advantage of the 5-minute spectacle in the county.
Tony Blain was up very early to capture the golden light of dawn breaking through the darkness and reflecting from the stratocumulus clouds overhead. He took this picture in Newington Green, London on 23rd August.
The dull grey colour of stratocumulus clouds was gradually overtaken by shades of pink as the sun rose over Linton-on-Ouse, North Yorkshire. Jonathan Dunn captured this breathtaking image on 23rd August.
A large cumulus cloud dominated the night-time sky over Chingford, London on 21st August. Picture taken by Rex Thompson.
This cumulonimbus cloud heralded a spell of heavy rain that lasted just twenty minutes on 23rd August. Joseph McCurdy took this picture from Ballycarry on Rathlin Island, County Antrim.
The spectacular dawn that greeted residents in Shipston-on-Stour was the result of sunrays reflecting off layers of altostratus clouds stacked above stratocumulus clouds. Helen Hall took this picture on 24th August.
The Red Arrows display over Fowey, Cornwall went ahead despite the thunderstorm. Kath Perkins photographed this image on 20th August as she watched the planes fly overhead.

Muimui說﹕Hello Anson, I am writing regarding to the recent news on the parents 'requesting' for compensation towards their lost son in Oxford.
Generally speaking,I totally disagree and feel gutted when parents think '供養父母是理所當然的'. 'Is it true that this is (中國)文化??? Is it right to brand children as their investment? I don't see why it is 理所當然...

Can Love Be Unhealthy? When love becomes an addiction, it can wreak havoc with body and mind.
By David Zinczenko, Men's Health
Love: It’s supposed to conquer all. But what about those times when, instead of conquering anything, it just messes everything up? If love is so good for us, why can it be so destructive? Is love ever unhealthy?
The answer is yes, according to South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford’s wife, Jenny. In the current issue of Vogue, she calls her husband’s affair an addiction, much like alcoholism—another condition, like love, that starts off romantically but can play havoc with body and mind. Here's what sexual temptation does to the brain.
Now, before you accuse me of being “anti-love” (if there is such a thing), remember, from a health standpoint, most love affairs are very good for you indeed. A UCLA study found that people in generally excellent health were 88 percent more likely to die over the eight-year study period if they were single. And when love dies, so too often do the lovers: If a man gets divorced and doesn't remarry, there’s a 40 percent chance he’ll die before age 65. If he sticks with his wife, that risk is cut to a mere 10 percent. And a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine found that ending a marriage can increase a man's risk of dying of cardiovascular disease by as much as 40 percent. That’s just the start: Here are four other benefits to marriage.
But not all love affairs are created equal. Indeed, the governor’s romance with an Argentinian woman seems to have all the hallmarks of a love affair that’s bad for body and mind. An affair is probably toxic if:
You're hiding it. Recent research from Colorado State University found that “secret relationships”—whether it’s an affair, or something that is kept quiet due to age, social class, or racial or religious backgrounds—are linked to being less committed to your partner, having more symptoms of poor physical health, and having lower self-esteem. The stress of keeping your relationship secret wears on your physical and psychological health. That’s certainly true in Sanford’s case: He flipped out, made up some cockamamie story about hiking the Appalachian Trail, and took off to see his lover on Father’s Day weekend—leaving the state leaderless. Obviously, his judgment wasn’t what it should have been. (Secrets can destroy marriages in other ways, too. Here are 50 things men wish women knew and 50 things women wish men knew.)
Your self-esteem depends on it. In a 2008 study, University of Houston researchers found that people whose identities are wrapped up in romantic relationships have lower self-esteem and are more self-conscious. These overly committed lovers base their self-worth on their relationship status, the scientists say, so the slightest rejection can send them spiraling. They’re also more likely to judge themselves harshly—and to worry about what others think. The researchers write: “Over the long haul, these tendencies can ... limit one’s feelings of efficacy and competence.” Anyone who lives in the public spotlight is conditioned to think about self-image constantly—which is in part why so many politicians fall into stupid affairs. (Don’t give in. Here are 32 ways to jumpstart your marriage.) And that leads to ...
You're sacrificing too much for it. A study in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology found that the more people feel they may be sacrificing for their relationship, the less well they function and the more likely they are to show symptoms of depression. When people feel they have to sacrifice frequently, they start to perceive those sacrifices as harmful. Once considered a possible presidential candidate for 2012, Gov. Sanford has certainly sacrificed his marriage, his privacy and his political ambitions. And that’s a lot to give up for a fling.
