:::::::::::: Earthquake at LA!! ::::::::::::::::

Before I went to bed last night, I suffer from headache, and the headache didn't cease, I am still suffering from it, though minor one.

Psychology previous test and quizzes result finally released. Got 18/20 for test, and 9.5 and 10 for the two quizzes, okay la.
I can only have 8 more questions wrong in the quizzes today and test on Fri.

The first quiz is easy, that is why I am lucky enough to have it all correct.
When we are having lecture, I feel the ground 'shivering'.
At first I though perhaps some working in the next lecture room or some heavy truck drive pass.
But the shaking becomes stronger and stronger and I realize it is an earthquake!
I am unexpectedly clam, even clammier than local students, who have already grabbed their belongings and ready to leave.
I just think the movement is not that great and it is save to stay inside.
Prof. Schling also settle us down by saying if there were another coming, we would leave. But he asked the students sitting under the projector to move to another seat~hahaa

Quite a special experience and I am happy to have that~hahaa
(the most important thing is no one get hurt ma)

Another test was not that well, have 3 questions wrong.
Meet Mable on the way to Humanities Building, she told us the earthquake is of 5.8 Richter scale and the origin is in downtown LA.
No wonder the feeling is not very strong, coz it is quite far away.

Last geography lesson, I don’t understand what he was talking about....
Much to prepare for the exam questions, and much of the reading I have not done.

Work hard tonight, no computer games and msn la!!

::::::::::: Boring revision; coming year time table :::::::::::::::

Get up at 7:15a.m. in the morning, nice to have a good sleep last night.
After breakfast, go swimming with Elaine.
As I am a bit tired, just swim for 1200m ja. It is good that when it becomes shinny, we left~hahaa
So that we won’t be tanned la (but after 6 weeks in the US, I become tanned already!)

Due with the timetable of coming academic year.
IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For sem 1, all the majors starts at 8:30 (from Mon to Fri)! Don't think that I can finish my class early, I still finish the class at 6:15! (if the lab have no delay....)><
And the major timetable is so strange, suddenly stuck in the middle of the day, which clashes with my dearest translation class! Arsh!!><
And I can't take any UGA and my major elective, statistics, due to time clash with major again!!
For sem 2, it is only slightly better. No 8:30 class from Mon to Fri, still have 2.
Still no time for taking my dearest interpretation classes, 揀無可揀下只可以take到中文寫作與法律翻譯 & basic skills of translation.
Frankly, I don't like translation, I like interpretation, but I have no choice under my stupid timetable....sigh.
And taking 2 translation course in one semester is harsh, you know, doing translation takes time, and I am really busy in sem 2.
Considering whether to take 陶國章's 中國文化導論, people say he teaches well but the workload is heavy and exam is difficult, any suggestion for me???
And more frustrating is that I can't take ENS lab, again due to time clashes with human biology lab....><
Why human biology timeslot is sooooooooooooooooo BAD?!

Writing essays at the same time queue for the washing machine.
The lunch is delicious!

After lunch, continue with another essay, this one have so few to write, I only have 300 words till now but the requirement is ~600 lei! ><
Take a nap and revise for Psychology, will spent the remaining time to fishing 2 readings of Geography, hopefully I could....

Ai… don't want to take Geog. exam, but it will come no matter what....><

::::::::::::::: A day of HEA ::::::::::::::::::::

Get up at 10:00 in the morning, this is my first time to get up so late after arriving the US.
Only one meal plan left, so I can only skip breakfast la.

Fooling around in the morning in my room, sorting photos for each of us.
When I finished, Tina, Eva and Steve come and get the photos, what a coincidence!

Have early lunch, coz we are all hungry la (no breakfast ma)
After taking a nap, finally start doing my readings.
Spent 2 hours or so on that to finish only one of time, low efficiency!
I am really not in mood of revision, so go to practice flute la. This time I am given room 144 lei!
The setting is almost the same, but the piano is black in color instead of wooden one, so I can see my reflection on it, which is good~hee

Everyone said they have nothing to do, it is soooooooooooooo UNFAIR!!!!
How come I have that 'endless' reading to read, and the words it uses are difficult!><

Finally finish another at ~1:00 and go to bed....Tomorrow still have 2 more to go….sigh.

:::::::::::: San Diego one day trip ::::::::::::::

Mabel wake me up this morning, I thought I was late!!!!!
Luckily I am not, she just worries that I don't have enough time for breakfast, thanks~=]

Take 快樂專車 (i.e. book van仔) to San Diego, our driver is from HK, so good!
Our first stop is the Midway Museum. First time to be on a 軍艦, so exciting!!!
I have never thought that the bed of the military would be that small and packed, don't understand how they can sleep there, you know, foreigners are generally much taller than Asian ma, however the length of their bed just fit my height!:o

Go on the deck where many helicopters and flights being displayed.
Then go up to the control room to have a look.

Our next stop is LUNCH!! :p
However, when we arrive that shushi shop, it closed. So simply have fast food (again) for lunch.
Then go to Barboa Park. The park is very big, I love its fountain most!
It allows people to go down and play, many kids go do to swim or play with water, what a perfect match with summer!!
I wanna go down as well, but I didn't bring my slippers la.

We change our schedule, skipping old town and go to bay area instead.
The scenery is great!
And with the wind blowing, just lovin' it!
Take many many pictures there la.

Then have a short visit to a beach (forgot its name), but it is the 2nd best beach in the US!
The wave is really really big, want to be embraced by the waves!!!!

Our trip to San Diego comes to an end lu.
Back to Westwood, we don't have fast food as dinner la, go to a Japanese restaurants accidentally.
The food is great and we are full. While the price is cheap when compared to HK’s and in US. =]

::::::::::: LA Hollywood :::::::::::

Today崇基鴨仔團一行十一人去LA Hollywood.
The Hollywood sign in LA is soooooooo famous around the world and I really want to have a look!

We set off after lunch. When we get off the bus, I don't know we have arrived the famous Hollywood! ^^’’
The streets looks quite 'tui' ar~~

The star avenue, I think HK’s one is much better, it has got the name of Snow White, Mickey Mouse, The Simson!! So excited
A little bit disappointing is that there is no imprint of the hand nor foot on the 'star'.
All the imprint of hand are located in the square of Chinese Theater, I can only find Harry Potter's 3 leading characters, George Clooney and Tom Hanks ja!

Nothing special in Hollywood. It is very tourist-orientated— with many souvenir shops located on each sides of the streets selling same style of T-shirts, little Golden man and so move-related gadgets.
We find the Wax Museum, Guinness record museum and Believe it or Not! But neither of them did we go in.

Back to UCLA early and have our dinner.
Revise Psychology at night, prepare for the test on Thursday as well.
So happy that I manage to finish preparing the two chapters!!! ^^
I can put my full focus on 'ko-ing' the UNLOVELY geog. readings on Sunday and write my last essays on Mon~
Add oil ada!

Somehow miss home....

:::::::: Poor result :::::::::::::::

Last night I didn't sleep well even I went to bed relatively early.
Just have continues nightmares about the mid-term of Geography.
I don't know why I am under much stress for the release of mid-term, but the feeling sucks.

Do pretty bed in Psychology test, if I got 4 more questions wrong in the coming 2 tests and 2 quizzes, I have to say goodbye to A- la....><
Don't know why Prof. does not do any teaching, just dismiss us after the test, strange!

Go to UCLA store to buy a UCLA jacket, really like it~=]
Lunch@Bruin Café with Eva then head for my Geog class.

The average is high, 82/100.
As expected, I am far below mean. Just got 70/100.
I should have done better. Even though this is a course for junior and senior students instead of freshman like me, it doesn't make it a good excuse to do so badly....
When I calculate the marks, I find that the total is wrong, it should be 75 instead of 70.
But the truth has not changed; I am still far below mean!

Prof's uncle and grandmother come to our class (it is surprising to see two old man and lady sitting in the classroom ma), so we finish our class a bit early.

Start packing my luggage. I guess I won't have much time to do so next week.

Things will get their way, no matter whether it is good or bad.
I just hope that I won't ruin my way.

It turns out that I didn't revise last night.......sigh.
Go to bed late, luckily still manage to get up at 8:30 as planned.

Today is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo BORING!
Very 摺:
Eat, revision, watching video, revision, eat, revision, sleep.
So routine and I don’t like it, want to go back to HK la.....
9 more days to go ja, time flies!

But starting from tomorrow, I will have my 'death week' started.
So much work to do, despite all the harsh harsh Geography, I like everything here.
Just try my best la.

So proud of Mable and Eva, who come first and second in class of international finance!!
好叻arr~~~~~ ^^

I will have my mid-term release tomorrow, hope it won’t be too disappointing.

No inspiration for the essay, I think the stuff I wrote is very unorganized and I didn't really compare the things, just describe.... :(
Revise psychology one more time before going to bed.

Get up at 8:00a.m., after breakfast, I continue with Psychology coz I really have no mood to revise geography essays.

Psychology quiz, got one question wrong, okay la.
Fall asleep in the lecture, but not very serious, just missed some points. ( I admit that is bad enough)
Quiz 9 was quite difficult, luckily only got 1 wrong, lucky.

Geography lecture, I overhear the student, who sit behind me, talk to her friend in the other row that this was her 3rd year while her friend is senior.
Wow~~~I guess I had taken a wrong class.
No wonder the workload sounds so heavy, this is the course not suppose for freshman!!
I can just comfort myself that if I make through this, I will be very proud of myself even the grade is not good.

Finish the materials early and dismiss. Go to 2nd floor of UCLA store to have the postcards send.
Then have a look at the UCLA jackets, several of them are quite good ar, gonna buy one before I leave.

Back to hostel and sorting photos. Then go swimming with Elaine!
Yeah~~ Swimming, first time to swim in 2008!!!!!!
So nice to be in water, and swimming feels good!!
Swim for 1600m or 1700m and leave la, satisfied~=]

Busy weeks. Coz I will be having my finals next Thursday, 10 essays to be prepared and memorized plus 2 Psychology tests.
However, on Tuesday I still have 2 quizzes and 2 essays to hand in, of course the remaining 200 pages of readings are waiting for me.......!

I look forward to my day back to HK~

So hea today!!><
And I hate soooooooo much that I have NOT yet started my readings! Sucks~~~
Terribly worry about how to hand in my essays................

Get up late in the morning, breakfast at 9:00 then start to do psycho quiz 9 answer.
When I 'finish' I send it to others and combine steve’s one to mine, I find that I have duplicate his mistakenly....
That means I have not done my part....FRUSTRATED....

Cell group, just simply sharing lei, but have a good time.

Back to my room and 're-do' my part.
So tired but have to do it anyway. The two quizzes on Tue contains sooooooooooo many contents! How could I gonna finish them at the same time with that large pile of readings?
Kill me….

After lunch, pack my stuff to Las Vegas la. Not much to bring actually.
Mabel's friend, who is also Elaine's classmate, comes to visit them. He finished his session in UCB and now lives in his uncle’s home in LA.

We go to Getty Centre together.
Getty Centre is a large art museum. I only visit the North wing ja. But already have soooo much to see. From paintings, sculptures, French furniture to photography.
When I watch the paintings, they remind me of what I have learnt about the difference between Chinese and Western arts in F.7.
One of the exhibitions hall shows the paintings of flowers and insects.
They are so detail painted, it seems like I am watching a photograph!
So of them even show the process of metamorphosis lei!
But it is so detail that make me feel like it is not an art, I really appreciate the painter's dedication towards perfect, but to me, arts have something more that making the things exactly the same as real one.
It should have meaning or implications behind. When compare the Chinese paintings, they really don't resemble much about the real stuffs but they have some meaning over that.
And the spaces in the paintings make allow your imagination works, to feel and resonate with the painter’s mind.
I think I really like CLC~=]

The architecture there is FABULOUS!
Especially the garden, so beautifully designed, which colorful flowers. I love it sooo much!

Can't catch the bus back to Rieber dining hall for dinner.
Din out at In-and-Out again.
Then visit Edward’s hostel, which is off campus.
His room is really really BIG!!
Both of us live in triple room ma, but his has pantry, a private bathroom, a large large dinning room, bedroom and changing room!!!!!
Ar~~~ I want to live there ar, it doesn't matter to go a bit far to classes, anyway I only have 2 days of classes every week ja ma....
His house has a scales, and when I weigh myself, shxt!!! I have GAIN 7 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally unacceptable! Have to go on diet after back to HK!
Two more weeks to go and I am not going to let myself gaining any weight again!

Back to hostel, seems that 大哥哥大姐姐opening is lack of helping hands.
Just hope that everything would run smoothly.
Feel sorry that I can't help my 'jong-mates' in this critical period, you guys do have a really hard time, add oil!!

I am going to Las Vegas for three days, 又期待又擔心搞唔掂功課同測驗!><

Read, read, read and read.
That’s all I usually do in UCLA.
It is like an endless cycle, I am delighted after reading all the materials and finish my essays; but anther hundred pages are waiting for me....
For psychology, reading 3 chapters every Wednesday is harsh.
Yesterday was slightly better, only have to read psycho, but still make it up to 1:30a.m..
I wonder why my reading speed is that slow, I started revising after lunch and I didn't doze off or daydream, what going on with me??

Get up in the morning, headache!
Have breakfast and go back to the notes I have jot down during reading for final revision.
Btw, I like the staff going on strike, coz after they go on strike, the food served in the canteen improved!
And the mode of take away lunch change form self-making sandwich to a LARGE
Lunch box!


You see how big it is! And it contains sooooooo much food!
A beg of chips, an apple, a salad, a chocolate cake and a OVERSIZED sub!!:o

We have lecture first before having the test. Kind of tired and doze off a bit, but able to wake myself up when come to language development part.
The test is not difficult, but I made 4 mistakes out of 40!!><
Too bad!!!
My grade A had said goodbye to me, and I don't want A- to say goodbye to me also....
(P.S. The result of the quizzes on Tue has been released, don't know why it states one of them I got 9.5/10, I should have got all the questions correct ma....:( )

Eat the BIG BIG sub., it is really really big ar~~
I am tired, but I didn’t doze off.
I guess I can do better in this week topic, coz it talks about Toaism(道家思想)
The only problem is how to translate what I have learnt from CLC to English....^^''

Take a nap and then practice flute.
Get the notes correct, and the melody is okay. Just don't being moved!
I forced myself, but that doesn’t work.

Tonight will spend time on reading Geog. materials la. Hope I can read slightly faster.
